So much thanks to Jen, Tyler, Adam, Jane, Patricia and Barbara who jumped in to help me this morning (Saturday, November 8). I went in the rain to remove the temporary fencing around the newly filled and seeded sinkhole. A dog had sustained injury on it so it needed to go. It was so wet that I figured no one else would be there but I was wrong. Before I even walked through the gate with the garden cart, Jen came over to offer assistance. She called to the other 5 and what would have taken me about 2 hours, took all of us less than 30 minutes! THANK YOU Jen, Tyler, Adam, Jane, Patricia and Barbara for the help and even more for the community spirit it demonstrated. The six of you are the reason why every day at the PDP brings joy!!! Thanks also to the unsung daily heroes (Charlie and Fred and Bunny and Richard Nassau...and so many more) who fill holes that the dogs dig, pull invasive weeds, refill dog poop bags on the trail, empty the trash...we literally cannot do it alone, but together we can achieve anything!

Thanks to DPW for installing the rest of our agility equipment. They did a great job and installed everything exactly as we asked them to...if you have questions/comments about any of it, speak to Jane or anyone on the volunteer Dog Park committee!
The dogs and their "parents" seem to really love it all! Attached are pictures we took during a play session on October 25. It was SO MUCH FUN and everyone seemed to truly enjoy it...canines and humans alike! (more pictures on the photo page...click below)

- Special thanks to all the young Marines from the Naval Justice School on base as well as committee members, park users and friends who came to help us with our fall clean-up (Bunny, Andrea, Joyce, Richard Nassau, Celeste, Vanessa, Charlie, Fred and anyone else that I have inadvertently omitted). We absolutely could not have filled 44 bags of trash and weeds without you...nor could we keep the park clean and tidy without the help of EVERYONE!
- We filled holes, weeded the entire trail area of poke weed...something we hope is really cut back by the efforts. We painted fence poles that had been replaced, put a fence around the seeded area of the sinkhole, tidied the shed (it is "military" organized now WOW), put slip-free tape on the new ramp/stairs...and so much more!
- Thank you also to DPW for picking up the trash bags, filling the "sink hole" in the back of the large dog side and so much more!
