Thanks to the generous support of community volunteers, the Town of Portsmouth, RI, and the inspiration of its founder, Bunny Miller, the Portsmouth Dog Park opened in May 2017. This special spot for dogs and their humans is nestled along the entrance to the beautiful Melville Park and Trails in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, near the shores of Narragansett Bay. Open and free to the dog-loving public, the Portsmouth Dog Park has fast become a cherished community asset. Those who enjoy the Park, residents and visitors alike, help ensure that the Park is kept safe and clean by following our sensible rules of responsible dog ownership.

The Portsmouth Dog Park
When the park first opened, we took lots of pictures of our wonderful dogs with their owners and posted them onto this site in our Photo Gallery: A Big Happy Family Of Dogs and Their Owners People and dogs have come and gone and many are still here...but we have so many new members of our extended family that we decided to start again.
We have begun to take new pictures though we are are happy to repost the same picture we took the first time around...just tell us and we will add it back.
