Kona is an Alaskan Malamute and is between 7-9 years old owned by Leigh Anne Hood. He needs an MRI to confirm a tumor on his pituitary gland causing Diabetes Insipidus. Three months ago he had an allergic reaction to a steroid called Prednisone. It caused his immune system to temporarily crash and caused a skin condition called Calcinosis Cutis. The possible tumor is a result of all that. Kona is the only immediate family member Leigh Anne has. He is her Emotional Support Animal for all her medical needs. Please help me save him. Click on the link below to find out more about Leigh Anne's situation and Kona's condition and /or to donate.

Nestled along the entrance to the beautiful Melville Park and Trails in Portsmouth, RI, the Portsmouth Dog Park is a special place where dog owners can let their furry pals romp off-leash in a friendly and safe environment. The Park is free to the dog-loving public, open every day from dawn until dusk.
The park offers free parking , full handicapped accessibility, areas for large and small dogs, fresh water for dogs and humans, a walkway for observation, benches and toys, as well as mutt mitts and waste disposal stations for both the large and small dog areas. Those who enjoy the Park, residents and visitors alike, help ensure that the Park is kept safe and clean by following our sensible rules of dog ownership.
The Portsmouth Dog Park is made possible thanks to the generous contributions of donors and volunteers in the community. It has been such a grass-roots success that construction is about to begin on a project to expand the park’s footprint, increase parking and add lighting to provide access from sundown to 8:00pm in the winter months. Read all about it here.

WHAT IS THE SURVEY ABOUT?
With the help of students from the Business Department at Salve Regina University, questions were developed to see where all our dogs come from and how they and their owners use the park. No personal information is requested and it will just take a few minutes to complete.
