Thanks to the generous support of community volunteers, the Town of Portsmouth, RI, and the inspiration of its founder, Bunny Miller, the Portsmouth Dog Park opened in May 2017. This special spot for dogs and their humans is nestled along the entrance to the beautiful Melville Park and Trails in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, near the shores of Narragansett Bay. Open and free to the dog-loving public, the Portsmouth Dog Park has fast become a cherished community asset. Those who enjoy the Park, residents and visitors alike, help ensure that the Park is kept safe and clean by following our sensible rules of responsible dog ownership.

On Saturday, September 25, we will be having a Community Clean-up from 9am-12noon. We will be filling holes, pulling weeds from around our new trees, putting down mulch around the trees, raking some of the stones from the dirt around the entrance etc. If you can help us, please stop by for any time you can give. Please bring work gloves, maybe a rake and perhaps a wheelbarrow . We want to clean things up for the fall/winter season and for our furry friends.
Students who need Community Service hours for school, we will have letters available to certify your community service (see Jane).
