Thanks to the generous support of community volunteers, the Town of Portsmouth, RI, and the inspiration of its founder, Bunny Miller, the Portsmouth Dog Park opened in May 2017. This special spot for dogs and their humans is nestled along the entrance to the beautiful Melville Park and Trails in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, near the shores of Narragansett Bay. Open and free to the dog-loving public, the Portsmouth Dog Park has fast become a cherished community asset. Those who enjoy the Park, residents and visitors alike, help ensure that the Park is kept safe and clean by following our sensible rules of responsible dog ownership.

The hose is now working so there is plenty of water for the dogs...as of May 7, masks are reclassified as recommended, as long as there’s at least three feet of space between individuals … also on May 7, the limit on the number of people outside is up to 75...hand sanitizer will continue to be available for people leaving the park...the weather is warming and spring is finally here.
Please remember to pick up your dog's poop!
Thank you SO MUCH for sticking with us through these challenging times!
