Thanks to the generous support of community volunteers, the Town of Portsmouth, RI, and the inspiration of its founder, Bunny Miller, the Portsmouth Dog Park opened in May 2017. This special spot for dogs and their humans is nestled along the entrance to the beautiful Melville Park and Trails in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, near the shores of Narragansett Bay. Open and free to the dog-loving public, the Portsmouth Dog Park has fast become a cherished community asset. Those who enjoy the Park, residents and visitors alike, help ensure that the Park is kept safe and clean by following our sensible rules of responsible dog ownership.

The Portsmouth Dog Park
Big thanks to Rumford Pet Express, Earth Animal, the volunteer Marines and all the dog park supporters who came to help us at our Earth Day Event. There were doggie goodie bags...fresh fruit, muffins, string cheese, coffee, juice, granola bars...lots of energy and enthusiasm!!!
All our new trees are adorned with mulch...the holes are filled...the chairs are clean...the tennis balls are new...the stones have been raked up and redistributed into the entry areas...the trash has been removed... and some new grass is growing.
We are READY FOR SPRING!
Thank you ALL so much!
